When using tremie pipes for concrete placement, hoppers are attached to the top to receive the fresh concrete. However, rapid concrete feeding can trap air within the pipes. To mitigate this issue, hoses known as ventilation tubes are introduced through the hoppers and lowered down the tremie pipes. These ventilation tubes allow the trapped air to escape, ensuring a continuous and uninterrupted flow of concrete. This method is detailed in Carl A. Thoresen’s 1988 work.
